O Captain! My Captain! [EP
I just uploaded a torrent of my first EP, “O Captain! My Captain!” to mininova, the piratebay, and a few other public trackers as well as RapidShare. I included 192 kbps rips of all three tracks and full-sized 300dpi album art, just in case you wanted to print it out (it’s beautiful stuff, by good friend Peov Freitas). You’re welcome to propagate these links across the internet as long as you give some sort of tip-o-the-hat to yours truly (like including a nice link back to http://captain.prestonsmusic.com, or a few kind words about the album, etc). Track list and download links below:
Track List:
- Incident After (2:20)
- Steel Trap Attacks (3:26)
- My Fire (3:10)

Why give the RIAA all your money, when you could spend it on a six pack to drink while listening to this free indie rock?

- *Flutters Eyelashes*
The *Flutters Eyelashes* compilation has finally rolled off the press and into the anxious hands of yours truly. It has a nice heft in my hands, despite its minimalist manufacturing. There is just so much talent packed into this tiny bit of silicon, and to think it’s free is really exciting. There’s nothing to come between these amazing bands and potential fans- I’m confident there will be plenty of connections across the Atlantic to come of this album.
Anyway, if you’re wondering where to get one, they’ll be in local Austin record shops soon. I have to wait for the bulk of the production to arrive (I only got a few samplers), have some folding parties (yeah, it’s DIY or DIE just like the old indie days), and then I’ll be shuffling them into End of An Ear, Waterloo, Cheapo’s, and lots of other locals. Don’t look for these in any of the big boxers- you’ll be sorely disappointed. This is a community building effort, not a commodity.
If you’re not in Austin, the producer of this fine compilation has given permission to share the tracks online- and since I did the artwork, I’m more than happy to provide that as well. If you’re so inclined, feel free to download the tracks to burn, and the PDF of the case to print and fold (instructions can be found here). Of course, all work therein is copywriten and any profit coming from the distribution of the compilation is completely out of the question.
